Great places to eat at Silver Star
Long Johns Pub
Right in the heart of the Silver Star village, situated in the Lord Aberdeen Hotel, just behind the Aberbeen Market, is Long Johns Pub. On most days during lunch hours it is packed to the rafters but the two Johns can always find a table within minutes.
The atmosphere is cosy and the service is the best on the mountain. The staff are incredibly efficient and friendly and the express lunch is express if you want to get back on the mountain fast after lunch.
The food is excellent and reasonably priced and the 1516 beer goes down well too. An express lunch is about $9.00 and lunchtime meals range from $10 to about $15.
Long Johns is open daily through winter for lunch and stays open for Après skiing beverages and dinner.

Bugaboos
Bugaboos does great coffee. There’s a sign in Bugaboos that says ‘Coffee is not a drug – it’s a vitamin’. That’s how serious they are about their coffee at Bugaboos. Not only coffee, the pastries are to die for. Baked by Frank, the owner, try the blueberry muffins or the pumpkin and cranberry cake – just two of the treats that will give you the energy to keep skiing or snowboarding throughout the day. They also do sensational soups and sandwiches.
On Saturday nights, they open for a four course dinner starting at 7 pm but you will need to book.
Open daily from 8 am to 5 pm and from 7 pm on Saturdays.
