Australia and New Zealand are two ski destinations to consider during the Northern Hemisphere summers. The ski season is from May through until September.

New Zealand has more reliable snow as it is further south (closer to the South Pole basically) however, over three million people visit the Australian ski fields each year. Resorts in Australia include Thredbo, Perisher, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller. In New Zealand, the most popular ski mountains are those around Queenstown in the South Island however, there are ski mountains on the North Island as well.

Over time, Ski The World will present information on many of the mountain ski resorts in Australia and New Zealand. We’ll start with Falls Creek in Australia.
