Think Australia and most people think sun, surf and sand or iconic images such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Uluru. But Australia also has ski fields that receive enough snow each year to warrant a ski industry. Over three million people head to resorts in the Australian Alps each ski season.
Australian Winter Olympics ski champions learnt to ski at Australian ski fields – think Zali Steggall (downhill) and more recently, Torah Bright (halfpike snowboard) to name just two.
