Best runs at Falls Creek
According to Ian Talbot, Sydney based ski writer and photographer, f you asked Steven Lee his favourite runs he’d say Valley of the Moon on a fresh powder morning. Steven, who represented Australia in three Winter Olympics, grew up at Falls Creek so he knows something about the mountain. Another local hot skier, Mitch Smith, who runs the Air + Style coaching program would nominate the black diamond trails on the Summit.
Most recreational skiers would sway to the groomed corduroy in Sun Valley and the left-hand side of the Summit whereas Falls Creek-based boarders head to the big hits in the ruined Castle Terrain Park used for the annual invite-only Stylewars event. Participants are the world’s best boarders.
Lets not forget our world-class cross-country terrain. Groomed classic and skating trails fan out into the Alpine National Park. The Australian cross-country team is based at Falls Creek throughout the Australian winter.

What makes Falls Creek worth going to?
Falls Creek Ski Resort is beautiful. Because cars are kept out of the village throughout winter, walking along the snow covered streets is the most common form of transport around the village. It’s gorgeous.
And it’s an easy mountain to ski and to fall in love with.
