New Zealand is one of the skiing destinations in the southern hemisphere that is acclaimed for its reliable snow and abundance of ski resorts extending across both the north and south islands.

With Maori names like Mount Ruapehu, Whakapapa and Turoa on New Zealand’s north island and Wanaka (the ski town) on the south island, you know it’s going to be a different skiing or snowboarding experience from anywhere else in the world. Not so Maori destinations include The Remarkables, Mt Hutt and Coronet Peak all accessible by flying into Queenstown.

The ski season in New Zealand extends from mid-June to early October providing four months of skiing, snowboarding and other winter activities. Let’s not forget apres skiing.
