Ski Cardrona

An hour’s drive from Queenstown, Cardrona is a quiet, family friendly snow resort.

Five cafes provide options for hot chocolate and assorted food to refuel and get back out on the slopes.

Getting to Cardrona

The drive time from Wanaka 35 minutes (34km), from Arrowtown 45 minutes (37km), from Queenstown 60 minutes (58km)

Nearest airports to Cardrona are Wanaka which is 10km away but only for Air New Zealand flights, Queenstown which is 60km – about a 50 minutes drive

Shuttle buses operation between Wanaka and Cardrona and between Queenstown and Cardrona.

Staying at Cardrona

There is limited accommodation on the mountain.

Within a one minute walk of the lifts, there are one, two and three-bedroom apartments however, there are only fifteen apartments in total and availability is  limited as they book very quickly.

Eating at Cardrona

The Mezz cafe serves breakfast from 8.30am. Lunch is  served at all the mountain restaurants.

The Mezz Cafe is open for drinks and dinner four nights a week. The Noodle Bar opens one night a week so most of the guests staying on snow tend to stay indoors and cook their own.

Cardrona ski passes

For the 2010 ski season, daily adult passes are $89 for a full day, $65 fr afternoon.

Student passes are $70 and  $58 respectively and a child’s pass is $44 for a full day and $36 for the half day. If you’re over 60, passes are $47 for a day. The Cardrona website says the passes for over sixties are for those up to 74. Not sure what you pay if you are 75?
