Top of the Stoke Chair at Revelstoke ski resort

One of the newest ski mountains in British Columbia, Canada, Revelstoke has only been open for two seasons. The 09/10 season will be its third. And what a mountain it is – steep, long runs, spectacular scenery and sensational skiing and boarding to be had.

In saying this, Revelstoke is still a pretty raw mountain with not a lot of groomed runs. It’s a lot like Kicking Horse where the majority of skiers are there for the steep off-piste skiing, for the chutes and trees. If you want more groomed runs, ski mountains like Silver Star and Sun Peaks are better options.

Travelling to Revelstoke ski resort

The closest airport is at Kelowna which is a couple of hours drive away. Revelstoke has its own small airport but a charter plane would be the only option for flying directly to Revelstoke, the town, which is a bee’s whisker from the ski mountain.

Eateries at Revelstoke ski resort

It’s new so there is not a great choice of cafes and restaurants on the mountain.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort Day Lodge (the RMR Day Lodge) is one of the few eateries at Revelstoke mountain resort (from 2009 visit). It is a large cafeteria style venue but has a good variety of food. Some folks bring their own sandwiches and buy a beer. Located at the mid-station of the Revelation Gondola, it’s easy to get to for skiers and snowboarders wanting some light refreshments.

If you know of any other cafes or restaurants at Revelstoke mountain resort, leave a comment and we’ll post the information.
