About Silver Star

Silver Star mountain resort is situated in the Okanagen Valley. The closest town is Vernon, home of the Vernon Vipers ice hockey team.

Silver Star is a relatively small ski resort with varied terrain that will suit the very beginner to the most advance. The double blacks at Silver Star look scary as!

Travelling to Silver Star

You can fly into Kelowna and catch a shuttle service to the mountain (about one hour’s drive). Flights come in from Vancouver, Calgery and Seattle as well as from other destinations in North America.

Driving from Vancouver can take about six hours.

Silver Star accommodation

The accommodation at Silver Star range from high end holiday houses with six double bedrooms, hot tubs and every modern con to the budget backpackers. Hotel style and apartments are available on the main street and many lodgings at Silver Star boast ski in and ski out. Even if you don’t have this facility, the mountain is easy to get around with a free shuttle bus to take tired skiers and boarders to their accommodation at the end of a day’s skiing.

Eating out at Silver Star

Eateries abound at Silver Star from the convivial Bugaboos Cafe with homemade pastries, pies and excellent coffee to the outpost at Vance Creek, Paradise Camp. You’ll need to put on your skis or get boarding to get to Paradise Camp but it is worth the traverse to get one of their cinnamon buns.

Long Johns Pub is another favourite eating place on the mountain as is The Den.
