Eateries at Steamboat ski resort
At the base of every gondola in just about every ski resort in North America, there is a bar and grill that serves what we call in Australia, pub food. The food is usually good and reasonably priced and the atmosphere, well, pub like!
Bear River Grill at the base of the gondola at Steamboat is no exception. It’s handy, warm and serves good food (so we are informed). At the top of the Steamboat gondola is the Thunderhead restaurant serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. In fact, Steamboat has about 100 bars and restaurants to cater for just about every taste.
What’s the snow like at Steamboat ski resort?
Tree skiing in gladed areas on Pioneer Ridge, Sunshine and Storm Peak is a major attraction. There’s also wide open groomed blue runs for easy cruising.
The snow is said to be reliable with good powder days. And as one skier suggested to us, a soak in the Strawberry Park Hot Springs after a day skiing powder is just the thing to do.
